If you live in a 3 story rowhouse

is it better to have the kid's rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floor?  I know the typical set up is 2 br's and a bathroom on the 2nd floor then the 3rd florr has the masters suite.  We are potentially rehabbing a rowhouse and I was wondering if it would be better to move the kid's rooms to the top floor?

Re: If you live in a 3 story rowhouse

  • We decided to take the smaller bedroom on the 2nd floor with the nursery and bathroom. When LO is old enough, they will move up to the 3rd floor.

  • I would say the second floor.  Unless you want to climb those flights of stairs to get your kids up from nap time, etc.

  • We too use the small room on the second floor as the nursery.  If you are rehabbing with a thought to sell, I think most folks having a baby would prefer to have the nursery near the master (that was a deal breaker for us).

  • well thats how my house is set up but im young still and live with my mother. On the 2nd floor its her bed room and then another bedroom but we changed that into a television room since you have to go through it to get the the bathroom and then through the bathroom is another room but nothings in there besides a bed so i guess thats a guest room ? then on the 3rd level is my room and theres another room up there which is the babys room. BUT for you id consider the 2nd level just becasue thats the same level as your room.
