Houston Babies

Product rave...

Okay, so my child hates to be swaddled and struggles to get her hands out. Last night I finally busted out the Woombie gift we got and it ROCKS. She slept for nearly 4 hours after each feeding...she woke at 1 am to be fed and 5 am. And slept soundly with the Woombie - usually I hear her grunting for 30+ minutes to free herself from the swaddle, not so much with the woombie. LOVE IT. I am sending DH to buy more today!!!!!

This, the Luve Frog and Dr. Smith's will be my gifts to every new mom whether they register for it or not!

Re: Product rave...

  • How cute, they look like little caterpillars in it!  I'm writing it down to remember to buy.  I got the Luve Frog for my SIL after reading about it on Kreepers blog and she said it's the best thing ever too.  It's crazy all of the new stuff they have come out with in just 6 years since DD was little!

So glad it worked for your little one!

  • We didn't do the Woombie, but I'm a big fan of the frog.  DS still loves it.

Yes, Baby's 1st Galleria has them in stock

  • Oh I absolutely agree, this is a GREAT product!   DS slept in one until he grew out of the largest size they had at the time, I think maybe until he was 8 months or older!

Just went to their website, they have added a larger size since DS was in one, and they have more options.  2 years ago, there was one option in 2 different sizes "newborn" and "big baby".

Glad to see they have some in a store in Houston, I will definitely be buying more if/when we add to our family!

What's the difference between it and an adult sized washcloth or handtowel?

Not a whole lot I'm sure but it fits nicely with the little legs and arms covering their legs, etc. so it just covers them perfectly because of the shape. I guess you could use a washcloth or handtowel as well...I like keeping her frog with her bath stuff so it's ready to go.

  • What is the fabric like?  It it thick?  We like the Miracle blanket during the winter time, but even when it was cold, she was still sweating from it.  She's even sweating from being swaddle from the muslin blankets and that's super thin.  She needs to be swaddle still, but I have no idea what to do without her getting too hot and getting heat rashes.

Looking at the pictures from the "Testimonials" part of the website, it looks thin.  In some of the pics, you can see the baby's diaper through the material.

It's a thin cotton/lycra/polyester blend but still very cool. You can leave them in a onesie or just their diaper under it. DD gets hot easily too and she didn't sweat under it (I put her in just a onesie).

  • I ordered one yesterday.  Hoping that $25 will buy me a few more hours of sleep at night! =)  Also hoping her eczema doesn't get worst from the material!
