I've been avoiding a lot of the food that the guys weren't supposed to eat when they were way little, like cow's milk & stuff like that. And was just informed recently that all these banned foods are now ok. I missed the memo. So what foods are still a no-go? Peanut butter. What else?

Re: What can they still NOT eat at 10 months old?
My Ped (both old and new) said honey, shellfish, egg yolk, and milk (but yes dairy ok) until one year. They said no peanuts/peanut butter until 2. Not sure why dairy is ok before one but milk is not?
We have not followed this though since we have no family history of food allergies. We started eggs (white and yolk) around 10 months and I am plnning on transitioning him to milk next week. I will hold off on peanut butter until after one and probably closer to 2, which is now the AAP rec.
Ditto this.
But we started cows milk at 11 months.
You won't believe this...my mom took me off formula and onto cow's milk at 6 months old. Its a miracle I'm so healthy
Are strawberries ok before 1 year? For some reason I thought they weren't, but maybe that's one of the foods that's now ok.
Whole Milk, as a drink, does not contain enough nutrients, vitamins or minerals for it to adequately sustain a growing infant. We are told to NOT give baby milk until after 1 year of age mostly because milk is NOT enough to meet all of baby's specific nutritional requirements during the first year of life. Babies should be on breast milk or formula or a combo of both until after 1 yr old. Here are 2 reasons why Yogurt is different:
I asked our pedi about this at the 9 mo. well check and he gave us the greeen light on shellfish. I think it's funny that we go to the same practice, but see different docs and got different answers on this one
Oh and ditto on the processing whole milk v. cheese/yogurt/etc. DH is lactose intolerant and he can do cheeses and other milk-products. But you don't want to be within a mile radius of him if he drinks a glass of whole milk.
That is funny! Shows how much of it is a judgment call on the part of the doc
And I think he told us that list at his 6 month check - I never asked again after that.
