I think we have it worked out so that dh and I (and even Ty - who is beyond thrilled) are going to the upcoming casino event at UT that I did some work for. I have NO CLUE what to wear. What does one usually wear to a casino party of this size (1000 people or so)? It is an evening event, so does that automatically mean I should wear a dress? I'd have to go buy one, which is ok and a good reason to go shopping. Or can I get away with black dress pants and a nice top that I already have? I don't want to be overdressed but I also want to make a good impression since I'm also going to be there representing my business, kwim? HELP!
Re: what to wear?
ETA: and how awesome that Ty gets to go, too! I'm so excited for you guys!
I found this skirt for you:
lol sorry, I couldn't help myself.... I was legitimately looking for cute outfits that one might wear to an event like that, and stumbled upon this gem.
I agree. I like the idea of a dress, but I have a really hard time with dresses, so I would personally wear dress slacks and a dressy top. I would also play up the shoes and accessories to dress up the look even more.
CJ, that's so slutty urban!
Thanks for your help ladies!

I would go looking for a dress but if you don't find one nice pants and dressy top would work also.
Even if most people are wearing dresses, I think you could definitely get away with dressy black pants and a nice top. If you are going with pants, then the top and shoes will make the outfit - so you could go with a really dressy top and fancy shoes. OR you could wear the skirt that CJ found :-)
ETA: Looks like an awesome event and an incredible opportunity - congrats! And yay for Ty being able to go too.
I think you can go either way (dressy pants or cocktail dress) but obviously whichever one makes you feel the most comfortable and beautiful. :-)
I'm sure you'll look gorgeous and when they all see your work, none of us will ever be able to book you again because you'll be even more busy than you already are!!!
