Have you/would you get a spray tan?

I am so pale and sickly looking right now and I could use some color but I do NOT go to tanning beds and am not even big on being in the sun at all. I do look nice with a little color though and I was thinking of getting an airbrushed tan before vacation with DH next week. It is not a machine, it is an actual person who does the airbrushing and their website promises it will not make you orange and stinky like other places.....but I am skeptical.

Re: Have you/would you get a spray tan?

  • I got an airbrush tan before my wedding because I do not tan at all. If I wasn't so cheap, I'd do it more often. If it's done well, it looks very natural.
  • I've done the spray tan and the "massage" tan. Both work fine. I think the massage one was more natural looking but only lasted about 2 weeks (tops!). For like 80$ that was a pricy tan. And it wasn't very relaxing bc she used bright lights to make sure everything was even. Have you tried any of the high end self tanners? Like the ones you get at makeup counters? You could always try on a small section and see if you like it.

  • I had a regular spray tan once (in a booth) and it was not great. Uneven, streaks, etc.  But I was pasty white & headed to Mexico so I went ahead & did it.  If I was going to do it again, I'd def. spring for the airbrushed tan.  I think you have a much better chance of it not streaking & such.
  • I did it and it looked GREAT (but I did the machine) but it faded kind of funky?I bet the person doing it does a great job.

I highly recommend plain at home self tanner! I use it and over 2 or 3 days you can get a nice even color. I use the spray stuff but then rub it in. Just make A, to spray the part on the back you can't reach and B. wash our hands after each application getting in between your fingers.
