Did it come on fast? I felt a little run-down today (surprising since i got a pretty good night's sleep - V didn't wake me up once) and then toward the end of the day my body just started aching. A little bit ago, i started getting major chills. BUT - i don't have breast tenderness or redness at all. I do have a fever over 100.

Re: if you've had mastitis...help please!
mine started like that, except i had tenderness in the boob...by the end of the day, it was really sore and i had red streaks following the veins.
i would call your OB tomorrow and just see what they think...i did that and they called me in an antibiotic which helped tremendously.
hope you feel better!

Mine came on very quickly. I was at church and I felt achy and like I was getting a cold. My breast was tender, but really just felt like a plugged duct. By the time I got home 2 hours later, I was having chills, had a 101 fever, and felt like someone had repeatedly punched me in the boob as hard as they could. Anything at all touching my breast, even just a t-shirt felt like fire. I had bright red streaks that followed my veins and had a really really hard time getting any milk out of that side - pumping, hand expressing, or letting Will nurse.
Antibiotics helped within 4 hours of taking the first dose and I felt almost all better 24 hours afterward.
similar to PPs -
the first time I had it, I felt exactly like you describe. I'm not even sure what made me look up the symptoms in one of my BF books but I did. Then I lifted up my shirt and noticed a red mark on one of my boobs, it was pretty faint though. I would say I had my symptoms like yours for about 4-5 hours before I discovered the red spot. Fever was about 101-102.
The second time, I had boob pain/swelling and no aches/fever for a couple of days - then the fever came...and the aches.
Sorry you're dealing with this. Talk to your Dr for SURE tomorrow and nip it in the bud before the weekend!!! hope you are feeling better soon.
