we grabbed takeout for dinner (yes I already ate dinner, but we didn't eat lunch today). Anyway there is a new nail place next to our takeout joint and it's called "A Touch of Polish".

I read it as Polish (the country) not polish (what you put on your nails) and turned to my husband and said what a stupid name for a nail salon, a touch of Polish. He just looked at me and shook his head.

LOL. I feel really dumb (perhaps I even feel Polish). LOL.

And, I must be an idiot too because when I was first reading your story, I was assuming it was the other way around--as in the business was a Polish restaurant and you were reading it as [nail] polish and were confused why a Polish [the country] restaurant would have [nail] polish in the name.

Now I'm confusing myself...

Lol! I do stuff like this all the time. My husband still won't let me live down that I said "Soak" was a random name for a street as we were driving to our friends. It was S. Oak. I often regret opening my mouth way too soon!

Not quite the same thing, but when I was younger I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out why the Batman logo was a drawing of someone's (or something's) mouth.  All I saw where wonky teeth.  Then one day I suddenly saw the bat and felt REALLY stupid.

That made me think of this:

One day my dogs chewed up my favorite high heel and I asked my husband if a shoe person could fix it.... he laughed at me and then a minute later looked at me and said "a cobbler". I looked at him and said "thats a dessert....?"

he will NEVER let me live that down. never. he just shook his head.

That is hysterical and totally something that I would say!

It reminds me of a time when my sister and I were younger.   We were at an icecream shop and on the wall with all the flavors says Van Ch Str.  Well, my sister asks "What flavor is vanchester?"  Sweet sister, it's vanilla, chocolate, strawberry!!!

If I told you how many times I've mixed up the 2.  DH's mother is ultra Polish and now I think of the nationality...I even read Furniture Polish the wrong way once.
