Moms of 3+ - a couple PG ???

Were you crampy at the beginning of your 3rd PG?  I'm not very crampy this time, except if I don't drink enough water.  I'm hoping that's just b/c my ute already knows what to do and has "assumed the position" w/o much complaint.

Were you exhausted or did you feel like you dealt with it better the 2nd or 3rd or more time around?  I have moments were I feel like I've been hit by a truck, but all in all, I'm feeling ok.  I think part of it is that I have no choice, I have to do things with my kids.  And, my kids are also STTN, which helps a bit compared to last time (although, I'm not STTN anymore!).

  • I'm currently pg with our 3rd and I feel like my body knows the deal already!  I didn't have cramping in the beginning but I did have light spotting which apparently was due to my ripe cervix and the fact that it's been around the block (with previous 2 kids).  I also wasn't as tired with this one during my 1st tri as opposed to my previous two.  I'm not sure if it's just because I didn't notice since I had 2 others to run around after or because I really just wasn't tired.  However, I just hit the third tri and I'm starting to get a little tired, but again nothing major.  I definitely agree that my mentality is different too, you just get up and do it because it needs to be done.  This has been my easiest pregnancy to date.

Thx!  You have put my mind at ease!  I think I'm just used to being tired now.  It's a way of life,  and doesn't mean I get to take a nap ... you just push through it.

  • I wasn't crampy with any of them...I didn't test with #3 until I was 8 weeks pg either....I'd been sick for about a week, so I 'knew.'  I just was much more at ease the last time....it was another 2 weeks before I called the dr and they were ready to see me now! lol...I went in for US/nutritionist 2-3 days later and found out it was twins.

I had M/S with all three as well, so I knew that if I got up and went straight for the toilet, I generally was fine the rest of the day.

I think you get accustomed to your 'normal'....with #2 I was living OOT during the week with DS (w/o DH).  I was all-day sick....and even ended up in the hospital for about 3 days (and lost about 30+ lbs - which I could stand to lose anyway....lol).....but I got out and went straight back to the apartment with DS and back to work..... you just do it because you have to.....we don't have options once there are kids that depend on us!

  • I had a lot more cramping in the 2nd and 3rd pregnancies and my dr said it was expected.

I think I was a lot more tired in the beginning this time, because I was also chasing my two others around.
