DH's cousin just found out yesterday at her 20 weeks u/s that she is expecting twins! Very exciting. She also found out that they are sharing a sac. I did a quick google search and found some pretty scary stuff. She also has a 1 year old and two teenagers. I want to do something for her. I know she will be going on hospital bedrest in the next month or so I guess so I was thinking a care package. Good idea, bad idea? What else?
Anyone else go through this and can explain to me what she's going to have to deal with. I don't know about asking her all of it since I don't know her super well and I don't want to hit on any nerves, ya know?
She lives in Arizona, I live in Colorado so we can't visit and we will have to send whatever it is.
Re: Monoamniotic twins?
So they are sharing an amniotic sac? That is great that her doctors are planning on putting her in the hospital soon. That's pretty standard for momo twins.
I think care packages for when she's in the hospital are a great idea. Snacks and magazines and things to keep her occupied. She will probably be in there for 8-10 weeks.
Good luck to your cousin!

My blog * We made the national news!
Monoamniotic pregnancies are extremely high risk because the babies can get tangled cords, twin-to-twin transfusion, etc. Our identicals shared a placenta (monochorionic) but had their own amniotic sacs.
Since you know she's going on bedrest, I think it would be nice of you to gear a care package toward that. Maybe include books, magazines, snacks, crossword puzzles... things that you can think of that will keep her occupied.
Very nice of you to want to help! : )
