Tried to save $$, ended up losing $$.

I took our lunch and drinks to a playdate today.  I managed to not close the door on our garage fridge all the way.  We usually just keep drinks and yogurt out there, but I had (non-frozen) meat for tonight's dinner and tomorrow's dinner out there.  By the time I got home, the fridge was at 65 degrees.  So now I've ruined about $12 worth of food in my effort to save money.

Awesome.

  • oh man!  Totally something I would have done.

MrsRosie, I did the same thing with eggs last summer.  Not nearly as expensive but still not pretty.

In college, my roommate left a watermelon in the backseat of her car for days. Just too lazy to bring it in and then forgot it was back there.  That thing turned into a big pile of mush and her floorboard was RUINED.  It was the most disgusting thing to watch her clean!

  • sucks! And more than the $$, I'd be more upset with trying to figure out what to make for dinner now!

  • Ugh.  I hate when I do things like that.  A maintenance man tripped our circuit in our garage last year and we lost our entire freezer by the time we figured it out.  I wanted to cry as I threw away all the food.
