I'm feeling a little snarky about this girl on my FB. She's my friend's-soon to be "baby mama." I say that because this is one of those... they were together for only a few months before she found out she was PG - with twins! And she friend requested me on FB so I accepted...
Anyway my first question: What is the typical gestation for twins?? Is it really only 33 weeks? This girl is saying she HOPES she has the babies at 33 weeks. Obviously for singletons, that it still pretty premature. Not sure how it works for twins...? Is it normal to hope to give birth at 33 weeks with twins? I would imagine the longer they stay in, the better.....
And 2nd.... is it typical for a multiples mommy to say "Baby A is MINE, Baby B is HIS..."?? This just seems like a very odd statement. And they are still in the honeymoon phase of being BF and GF so it wasn't a statement that was said in a fight or something like that.
This girl just gives off the major douche vibe... but maybe I'm just being too harsh. Or could my suspicions be right?
Re: What is the typical gestation for twins? Also a question...
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
What a whacko- it's my understanding that 36-38 weeks is the best time for twins to arrive with many arriving at 35 also.
The whole baby a and b thing is just weird! Our A is very active and B is very laid back which is exactly DH and my personalities however I had never say "HIS" and "MINE" ?!?!
She's crazy. My ideal gestation would have been 37-38 weeks. 36 weeks is the average gestation for twins and 33w is less than ideal.
This girl sounds VERY immature. 33 weeks is early even for twins (not saying it can't happen and be okay, just that it isn't ideal). 37 weeks is considered full term for twins.
As for the A is mine / B is his thing - that is just plain awful! very obnoxious!
Yeah this girl just rubs me the wrong way!! She's 26.
Mine and DH's friend (he was one of our groomsmen at our wedding) keeps saying how we should meet up.... and while I want to see him, the more I get to "know" her on facebook, the more I do NOT want to meet this girl. She seems a bit.... wackadoo, lol. I think I'm going to make a comment on her "33 week" post right now.

ha ha! and like pp, i want to know if this girl is over 18.
i've read that getting to 37wks or more is best. of course it's better for babies to stay in as long as possible, but most ob's want to get twins out by 38 or 39wks.
No, you're right.
Those babies can stay in there for 37w, 38w, plenty of us on here have gone that far. To want to have them that early is plain nuts. Let me guess, she doesn't want to get too fat? She sounds like one of those.
Whether she knows it or not, Baby A and Baby B belong to both of them and it will take both of them to raise them. She has no idea how much work twins are, especially when they're newborns.
I'm seriously frightened for these children.
nice!
My only defense for her (not knowing her from anyone else)---is she maybe facing PTL already? And saying, "I hope they come at 33 weeks" would maybe be some sort of long term goal and a "good" (out of the worst) kind of thing?
I ask b/c DH has a co-worker whose wife is PG w/ twins. She's been contracting and on hospital bedrest since week 25. If she made it to 33 weeks, she'd be THRILLED. I mean, 33 weeks would be better than 27weeks. IDK.
And for the "hers" and "his", could she be totally kidding about that? I mean, sometimes when my toddler acts like a little hellion, I tell DH that he's "HIS son".
I mean, she could be a total whack job, but just to play devil's advocate here...
that's what we would hope!
Average gestation for twins is 36w; ideal is 37-38w. You want them to be full-term (36w is still technically pre-term).
With the "mine" and "his" thing, maybe they're going to each take custody of one twin, a la Parent Trap? That is really sad for the babies though.
lol
agree, that chick's out of her mind. has she been to a doctor?
