Graco Nautilus question

We just got DD one of these and I'm about to adjust the shoulder straps.  It says if you're not using the lowest harness setting to remove the body support (extra cushion thing).  Is this a safety issue?  I'm just wondering because it looks and feels way more comfortable with the body support in.

Re: Graco Nautilus question

  • Its because it pulls the harness down below the childs shoulders which is a safety issue when it pulls down the harness.  This is what I have seen at my car seat checks and other techs have said as well.  Im not sure if this is Graco's reason behind this.
  • I'll have to check again how the body support fits in there because it how I have it in there now it actually stops below the top three slots.  So basically where DD needs the straps would be coming above the support and not through if that makes any sense.  I'm guessing they put it on there for a reason and safety is more important than comfort.  Thanks for your help!
