How the heck do you throw a bachlorette party when...

2 of the people are pregnant, and one is the bride?...

I'm the maid of honor, and I have no idea what to do. I went out drinking/clubs for mine. Anyone have any suggestions? How does it work with money? Does everyone pay for themselves there (and chip in for bride?). Sorry, I've never done this before.

  • Maybe do a spa day?  I would say people pay for the services they want and all chip in for the bride to get pampered.  I really don't know what else to suggest...drawing a blank.

  • I would just have everyone pay for themselves and then split the cost of the bride. That way, if they aren't drinking they aren't paying for anyone's drinks but the bride and that seems fair.

Random story sidenote- my best friend/now SIL, was in a car accident a week before her wedding and shattered her foot. She had surgery, leg was in a cast, crutches, etc., and was only released from the hospital the day before we were taking her out for her bachelorette party. She didn't want to reschedule but she didn't have the energy to leave the house. So, my other SIL and I had to come up with a new plan to throw a bachelorette party at my house on a day's notice.
She loves magic (LOL) and we ended up hiring this AMAZING magician who performs mainly in Vegas and for super upscale private parties. Since he didn't have anything booked and he felt bad for her he agreed to do an in-home party for pretty cheap. It was the coolest thing ever. Absolutley amazing. I still wonder how he did all of this tricks and he had so much personality and was perfect for the night. :)

  • My bach party consisted of just the bridal party going to the melting pot for dinner. Kinda lame but at least it was an outing. Maybe you could do something like that??
  • I just went to a bachelorette party for one of my college friends who wanted to include one of her pregnant med school friends by not going out.  It turned out to be a blast!  It was out of town at another friends' house and we all stayed the night there.  We started in the afternoon by having lunch together.  Then for dinner we did this cooking class at a restaurant and then got to eat the food we learned to prepare.  It was soooo much fun!  Then we went back to our friends' house for drinks, gifts, and games.  I would definitely recommend it.  Her bridesmaids paid for the snacks at the house and we all paid for dinner.  Everyone brought some alcohol.

  • Spa day followed by a "fat night"  filled with favorite movies and mocktails.

Definition of "fat night" - Everyone get's their own pint of icecream and then you drop $50 on junk food and eat until you basically can't eat anymore.
