lame

so we have been dealing with the stupid insurance company for month now...BTW our babies are a month old today!  BUT, when i called to tell them that they were born on 3-15 (3 days after birth b/c weekend) they 'didn't' add Braylon to the insurance! WTF!!! Mackayla's was approved by the 18th and i have already received her card. i called today about Braylon's and they said that it could take 30 days from the report of change to approve the application. why approve her but not him...she said they were 'working on it'. Whatev. poor Braylon is the one who has been needing medicine that we have had to pay out of pocket for b/c of this crap! so whats the LAMEST part about this? the ladies excuse is that "the people are just so used to adding one baby not two so they probably forgot!" OMFG are you freakin kidding me? UGH! the funny thing is that he was in the system (even though they said he wasn't) and i found this out b/c the lady slipped and said his name (before i even told her his name, she only had looked up mine) *vent OVER!*

Re: lame

  • Ugh--irritating!  I would be beyond pissed--especially since you're paying out of pocket for all of his meds.  I hope they reimburse you for the extra money instead of the copays you're only supposed to be responsible for.  Honestly, if he was already in the system, I think someone dropped the ball and forgot to finish entering him.  I hope they figure it out soon for you!
  • I wonder if we have the same insurance provider? :)  Same type of thing happened here.  They added one baby but not the other.  Both my H and I had to get on the phone with them more than once to get it straightened out. My husband's HR director and our pedi told me that this particular insurance company is NOTORIOUSLY bad about adding twins to policies, so it's not all that uncommon.  You'd think they've dealt with it before and would have figured out a way to add two (or more babies) at once.  Annoying.

  • I'm having the same issue right now.

First they only added two of them as covered with thier birthday a day late......who covers 1/2 of their children??

Just got confirmation letter with 'corrections' and they are all added without coverage, right birthday and have me listed as a smoker!? WTH!?  I called again today and am going to follow up with the actual insurance company not my HR next week.

This is BEYOND ball dropping.  Unfortunatly you just have to stay on top of it.

  • Same thing happened to us.  I am still dealing with it.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
