ok, ok! I'm sorry. Seriously, I am. But, as I was getting off the phone with her, I realized we were going to be late for our first gymnastics class if I stuck around to write about it.
So, she did apologize, and the customer service person who was handling FB over the weekend, didn't see this the same way as we did. They truly thought they were encouraging their customers to go out and spread the word about gdiapers. They didn't mean for it turn into what it did.
And I totally understand that. I told Kim (the president of the company) that I did. I told her I knew it was an innocent post, and I knew that the company just really didn't think through how it would be perceived. And I also told her that instead of saying "we didn't send anyone to spam the bump" they should have responded, "we are very sorry, we truly didn't see our post as saying that, but I can see how it can be seen as such" and she agreed.
I told her that I think a lot of it got blown out of proportion, and part of it was because this random post from 2 days prior suddenly got bumped with a bunch of random new people posting positive reviews of a product. And that it wasn't until one of them mention the gdiapers facebook message that we realized it was coming from the company itself.
She realizes now why we were upset, and she is very sorry. She was very, very nice. She started talking about how people will join the gdiapers yahoo group just to post about how awesome a specific bottle is or something like that. She said she now sees that the gdiapers posts, in our opinion, were the same thing. Even though the posters weren't bots and they weren't paid, it was the same thing. She apologizes to the community for offending anyone. She also said she was going to reach out to other similar companies and ask how they handle this.
Oh, and Pixy, she specifically welcomed a phone call from you, if you would like to talk to her further. But anyone is also welcome to call her as well, if you would like.
Any questions?

How they handle what, not spamming message boards with their minions?
I'm not going to call because I'd get the same answers you did. That they didn't see anything wrong with what they did, still don't see anything wrong, but they're *very* sorry they pissed people off because it's generating bad press.
I hope she contacts BG to see what they say about this, because obviously they also think its ridiculous.
I have to say, I was VERY impressed. It was much better than I was expecting.
It totally doesn't surprise me, because: a. she's the president of the company b. they screwed up c. it was obvious d. she knew you'd be reporting back to your meeeeeelions of EFFers
It would have surprised me MUCH more if she'd have been defensive and anything less than profoundly apologetic.

This. If she also used the phrases, "In your opinion(s)" throughout the conversation that doesn't mean that she agrees with what our opinions are. She's trying to mollify the situation, which is fine, that's what she should do. However, I still don't get the feeling that she knows what her PR person did was wrong.

No, I genuinely got the feeling from her that she knows they were wrong. And she actually specifically mentioned BG as one of the companies she was going to reach out to.

I agree.
I still would have loved to hear the apology.

I am not sure what she thinks that other companies are going to say they do besides "ignore it" but whatevs.
I still won't recommend gDiapers to anyone, but I wasn't going to regardless.
I agree.
