I was a little underwelmed by the toy store itself. They have some interesting options but it is a pretty small space.
We took my son to the open studio and had a really good time with that. There are paints, markers, cloth, scissors, paper etc...for the kids to use. We had alot of fun painting and making pictures. I would love to get him in sometime do the Jackson Pollack splash painting.
I would say use it on a rainy day. I agree with PP about being underwhelmed the store. The open studeo was fun for DD. We went when she was just a little over a year and did great. She would have done even better older!

PS....my son was almost 3 when we were there.
