It depends on what's in them. Sippy cups of water are allowed where ever, sippy cups of milk or juice are only allowed in the kitchen/family room/eating area, where I can keep an eye on them. Our sippy cups are not 100% leak proof.

Same as above. Poor Eimhin broke one of his front teeth in half while walking with his sippy cup last year so we only use this type as it seems to be a bit safer.
