Had Early Ultrasound this morning

Morning,

I had my early ultrasound this morning at 5w5d. I was the girl who was convinced she was having an ectopic duing to cramping and tugging on my right side. I actually wanted to keep my legs crossed so the dr. couldn't check...anxiety was through the roof!! But....we saw a healthy yolk sac and a tiny flicker of a heartbeat. The dr. said it was a bit too early to really see the heartbeat so I will have to wait until 4-26 for that. My anxiety level instantly dropped from a 10 to a 5. So...I am the poster girl for "cramping is normal!!"

That is great! Congrats! My first appt is Wednesday and I am really really hoping I get to have an ultrasound... This may sound funny, but since this was your first ultrasound, was it external? I have no clue what to expect at this appt.

That is wonderful!! Congrats! I am still getting lots of cramping and weird feelings....this makes me feel so much better. My first appt is 4/27 and I hope they do an ultrasound!!!

Hi, not a funny question. I wouldn't have known either. They do a trans-vaginal ultrasound...think of a long wand with a condom on it. Not painful at all and the picture pops up instantly. Good luck!

Hi,

I'm new here and I am 5 weeks today. I have been having mild cramping and light pinching all in the same place, on this right side. It is nice to know I'm not the only one. Out of curiousity, did your doctor give an explanation as to why you are feeling it all on the right side?

No explanation really. He just said that the uterus is really stretching and growing and it could feel like the right side but it might be more lower back or in the center. I have started touching my stomach when I get the feeling now so I can determine exactly where it is...and usually is ends up being more my lower back. Odd!

You are totally me except my pulling is on the left side! I called and begged my Dr to get me in early last week and thankfully he did on Thursday and we saw the same thing.... I am right there with you girl!
