I know that ovulation occurs prior to your period - so if I haven't gotten my first ppd period (still breastfeeding) - then I wouldn't really know if I've ovulated for sure until my period comes. But sometimes over he past 18 months, it seems like I'm ovulating...although I've yet to get a period. I'm just thinking of this now because I noticed EWCM yesterday after using the P-O method (dumb I know) and now am freaking out because I so do not want to get pg right now....time to fill the BCP Rx I think!
Re: Random: Can you ovulate without getting a period?
so basically...ovulation HAS to be followed by either a period or a BFP?
Yes, if you ovulate you WILL get a period...unless you get KU.
The converse is not true though...you CAN have a period WITHOUT ovulating.
Yep.
And pp is also correct; you can get a period without ovulating (an "anovulatory cycle").
Yep... and that was much more concise than my explanation.
Ditto this
YUP. DD#1 is proof of that! I had been on BCP's for 8 years, went off them to TTC & had a positive pg test several weeks later. Never a period.
