infant carrier handle get stuck?!?

I'm not sure WTF the deal is but more than not the stupid handle gets stuck on my infant carrier - Graco Snugride (the regular smaller one not the 32 or whatever). Whenever I need to move the handle either up or down, the things you push in just lock up usually and I'm sitting there for several minutes trying to squeeze the crap out of it to release it! It's ridiculous because I have to constantly utilize the handle as I'm the one taking Sabrina to and from daycare everyday and my husband said that I cannot leave the handle up in the car (according to instruction manual).

Anyone else have this issue with their car seat??
