Every year for our bday, my mom made us a cake from the Wilton shaped pans and hand decorated, etc. it was always exciting to see what we were getting, etc. It's something I've been doing with my son for his 2 bdays so far and i want to keep it going. Does anyone else do this and if so, have you found anywhere with good prices on the Wilton products? I have a Michael's and Hobby Lobby locally, but they don't seem to carry many of the items from online. And i've also noticed that you can't buy many of the shaped pans from the wilton site. I noticed maybe ebay or amazon, but didn't know if that was a good place to look or not.
I was also thinking of maybe doing this for extra money while i'm home this summer/fall for extra money. I know it's easier to just go to the grocery store and buy one (my girlfriend swears...ha!), but i like the tradition... :-)
I just thought i'd through this out there and see if there are any hidden places...
Thank you!!
Re: Wilton cake pans...random question
I do this too!
I have bought pans off ebay. Also I used to have a bakery supply store near me, they sold and rented the pans.
LOL...My Diego was jacked up looking, also!
I've only ever bought them at AC Moore...My MIL has some vintage ones, too.
My mom gave me the best advice.... use the picture to decorate and then hide the picture before the guests arrive...they don't know any better! LOL.
thank you girls! It's so tedious and i always say "what have i gotten myself into" about an hour in.... but every year, i just seem to keep doing it! ha!
