Texas Babies

Sad

Kat left to go back to her father in VA today. Last night she was so upset and saddened. She really wants to be able to stay here (she can't 'choose' to do that until she is 18 because we got screwed by the Texas legal system) and she feels like she is so much more needed here than she could ever be there. Also this is 'home' where that is a forced stay where they force her to 'blend' with them whether she wants to or not. They also don't understand her personality and that she is 17. She told me that she wanted to cry because she cannot be Kat while up there, she must be this other person who doesn't really fit her being at all. Her father is a control freak and if it isn't HIS way it is unpleasant living. We are stuck until December when she turns 18. She is conflicted though - she LOVES her school up there and the fact that she has a boyfriend up there. She would love to be able to continue to finish her high school career up there (2 more years) but not have to live with them - if we could move up there she says she would be the happiest kid in the world. She does have schools down here she has been accepted to where she could just walk in at will and continue on. She isn't comfortable with that 100% but she is comforted knowing that she would be able to choose that if she wanted to. However we cannot tell her at this point in time that it is something she could choose because when they push too much she freaks out and mouths off and then gets in big trouble. We get in trouble too (we have to have weekly co-parenting calls per our orders). Gotta just live with it for now. Sad and wishing we could make a change NOW!

  • Thanks Dawn! She will be fine...it is more selfishness on my part. *smirk* I would love to have her home always.
