Just wondered...
Is there a full name for Rusty or does it stand on it's own?
darkskyy:I've heard it as a nn for Russell.
This.
It can also stand alone, but if I were considering it as a name, I would go with Russell so the boy had a formal name.

Also, I think it is one of those nn that comes about due to red hair or some other particular thing about a person.
My mom's dog is named Rusty (he's a reddish/brown cocker spaniel)...so I would never consider it for a child.

The only Rusty I've known is a cute little redheaded boy It suits him so well!
My uncle is a Rusty and it suits him perfectly.
In his case it's short for Romeyn (pronounced like the lettuce Romaine)
same here!

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.
