Baby Names

Names that end in "er" and "or"

One of the easier things for DH to get interested in has been names.  He's not huge on the other aspects of TTC like CM and temping lol.

Anyway, we both really like a LOT of names that end in "er" or "or", Carter, Tyler, Taylor, etc.

Our last name starts with an R.  I'm a little concerned it will roll a little too smoothly into our last name, WDYT?

(p.s. I'm not even PG yet, just bored and wondering what y'al think lol)

  • I don't see a problem. Something like Carter Roberts or Taylor Reagan Is fine!

  • I won't use a name ending in "r" for this exact reason. I'm sure it'd work out ok, but I think it ends up sounding like one word instead of two.

This is my thought too...or that someone with think our last name starts with A intstead of R because of the "smooth roll" lol of the names.

Like Tyler A____ instead of Tyler Ra______

Ah well, I'm a ways off from needing to worry about it, but it's been bugging me so I thought I'd ask.  Thanks ladies :)

  • I don't think it's a problem because whenever "r" has a vowel in front of it, it makes an "eeerr" sound instead of just a regular "r" sound. (If that makes any sense)
