CD?

So we tried our prefolds for the first time tonight.  My DS weighs  8 pounds 11 ounces and we bought small diapers for 8-15 pounds.  I washed them several times for prepping.  I tried the angel fold.  My baby looks like a sack of potatoes he looks so bulky not cute like I imagined.  I used a prefold, snappi, and cover.  The diaper sits under his belly button and covers his butt but it seems to go half way down his tiny little thighs and you can't move his knees up to his tummy...any thoughts/suggestions?!

This is exactly why we haven't been using our CD's.  I'm hoping once my DD is a bit larger we will use them more often.  The onesies won't even snap up.  I hope others have suggestions.

I'm using NB prefolds from GMD, and I feel your pain.  I've found that carters, the real carters that is, run longer, at least on my 22incher.  She does grow out of her pants faster than tops though, and I've taken to buying a size up if they're not giant.  I think that part of CD is that cute, fluffy behind!  Plus who cares if their bottom is a little rounder, mine is too!

I don't know what the angel fold is but I don't think they fit weird.  My DS has cloth on in his siggy and he can totally bend his legs up froggy style.  This is video of the fold we use.  They key is making it the right length for your LO.  We recently moved from NB to regular diapers because the NB was really tight to get around his waist.
