We are team green and finally decided on names. If we have a girl the middle name was going to be after my paternal grandmother. Her name is Frances. I dislike that name and decided to change it to Francine. DH wasn't crazy about it, but seemed ok. Then he went out of town with his dad and must have talked about the names, and he learned his paternal grandmother's middle name was Frances (she passed away in October 2007, and we were both close to her). Now he wants Frances and not Francine. "Ok" I said, it's just a middle name and if it means that much it's fine, but I want to spell it.
FRANCESS
with an extra S it just seems prettier to me.
What do you think?? I don't want to give her a crazy spelling people won't be able to pronounce (am I thinking too hard it's just a middle name!)?
Re: Middle Name Spelling
No, that totally changes the way the name looks and sounds. Like Princes vs. Princess.
I would stick with Frances. I think it's a classic, adorable name, actually!
It looks misspelled IMO. Kind of made up, reminds me of 'prinCESS'. I like plain old Frances.
But if you really like it, it is just a middle name, it'll turn into F. eventually anyways!

Plus, if you are honoring someone, you really should not change the name or the spelling.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.
