ok I am a worry wort, but here goes. My daughter has been army crawling since the beginning of six months. When she does it though she drags her left leg and uses her right leg to move. Now she is getting up onto all fours and seems like everything is fine she just isnt moving forward yet. She also began sitting from laying down. She also can stand fine, etc. She uses all of her limbs the same, except when army crawling...when she drags her one leg. I had my dad watch her and my mom (my dad is a neuroradiologist, and my mom a nurse) and they said they really didn't think there was anything wrong at all....but of course I worry. My dad told me just to bring it up at the nine month appt. if she still did it. He said that there was nothing to worry about because she is developing completely normally but he knows I will worry myself to death anyway. I of course googled and saw a few people mention thier LO's army crawling with the one leg dragging too. Anyone have any insight on this?

Re: army crawling worry (kind of long)
K army crawled for about 1 month - and often times he would only use his arms. I used to work in a daycare, and have seen more ways to crawl then I have ever thought possible. Not every baby does it like the standard crawl. Even know that K is crawling he trys to bear walk instead, or prefers to frog jump his legs instead of crawl.
Has she used her legs to manuver around in otherways? I would ask at the 9 month appt. And I think your parents are right - it doesn't sound like much to worry about - just your LO being unique.
My DS is one (yesterday) and STILL does...when he wants to get somewhere fast. Like your DD, he does everything else just fine with both legs but this crawling is how he learned and he's really perfected it to an art form
. Here's what makes me feel fine with it - he CAN crawl on all fours (has when it suits his needs), he pulls up to stand normally and cruises normally, he walks (holding onto furniture at this point) normally, etc. Other than his weird way of crawling, I see no issues.
Like you, I was a little concerned but your DD is so young - no worries!! DS WAS doing this at 9 months (and not crawling on all fours until 11 months!!) and my pedi said it was fine and not that unusual.
Advice - don't google this. You can't explain it over google and all you are going to get is "your kid could have CP" etc - which is NOT the case with my DS and I doubt with your DD either by the sound of it.
HTH.
