Anyone have a hotsling??

What do you think of it? I bought the moby and i hate it - i have never been able to tie it just right!!  Which hotsling do you own and is it as easy as it looks to use?

Re: Anyone have a hotsling??

  • I have one and it is really that easy to use.  i used it much more when LO liked to be held in the cradle hold, but now I love the baby bjorn b/c she likes to face outward on me and you cant do that with the hotsling.

  • YES AND I LOVE IT. i actually wrote a post dedicated to my love for it yesterday. it allows me to be productive and, while ill be missing out on some sweet day time tv, that is like gold these days!
  • I've got one but I wasn't a big fan of it.  Maybe I got the wrong size but I just could never get DS in the thing without him screaming and he just looked uncomfortable when I did manage to get him into it.  I was about to go and buy a Moby but then when the sales person showed me that it was one long piece of fabric that was as long as me I had second thoughts on that idea.  She convinced me to get a baby k'tan.  It does like six positions and no tying required.  Might be something for you to look into.
  • I got the Hotslings AP (adjustable) and so far I haven't been able to figure it out comfortably. I'm going to hold onto it for when DS gets bigger and can do the hip carry, but I've never been able to get him into the cradle hold without feeling like I'm suffocating him.

I have a Moby too that a friend gave me, and DS loves it. It's really comfortable, and only took me a couple of times to get the hang of it. The downside is, it does take some time to get on, and it's not good for hot weather (it was mid-80's here yesterday and DS was drenched in sweat when I took him out!)

I want to get a ring sling, like the Maya wrap.

  • I got a hotsling when DD1 was around 4 months. She loved it, it was super easy to get her in and out of, and we used it a ton!

DD2 so far is only happy in my Beco, but I hope she'll like the sling when she gets a little older/bigger.

  • C hates the HotSling. He LOVES the wrap. He zonks out in it within minutes. The Moby just takes practice.

  • I LOVE mine too. I was fitted for it,so it's perfect for LO and me. I got a cute pattern and get compliments on it whenever I use itin public. It comes with a dvd to help but I haven't had any issues or felt the need to watch it. Good luck! :) I do reccomend buying it in a shop rather than online so you can get a tutorial and help seeing how to work it at first.

  • I haven't been a big fan.  I'm not sure if it's too small or what (I thought I ordered larger than I needed), but it's never very comfortable for me or for him.  And it really sucks for extended wearing.  I like my Moby, but sometimes it's too complicated to put on/take off.  It's really comfortable for long periods of time though.

I'm thinking of ordering an SBP ring sling for a trip next week.
