Activities for a Circus Theme party?

DS' 2nd bday party is next week. I have a Clown coming and was hoping to set him up outside and I also wanted to do some activities of some sort. The clown will do face painting and balloon animals. The kids range in age from 1 all the way up to pre-teen, though I highly doubt the older kids will get involved in that stuff. I guess really my target age group is like 1-7. Thanks!

  • Carnival type games would be fun, a ring toss or bean bag toss with prizes.  Oriental Trading has some.

  • All of the older kids loved the dart toss at ours. We did ring toss, treasure dig in the sandbox, duck pond in the little pool, the one where you knock down milk cans.

  • not sure if you have a cemented area but you can grab a big bucket of sidewalk chalk and have a drawing area.

  • These are great ideas! Thanks.

Is there anyone around you that does pony rides?

Im wanting to do a huge circus/carnival theme party for all 3 of the kids birthdays when they are about 5-6 or 6-7yrs old. (their bdays are all in may)  I will have popcorn balls, cotton candy, and maybe caramel apples for snacks.  There will be a clown doing balloons and face paintings.  Pony rides, one of the huge bounce house things, maybe a puppet show.

Maybe have them make some sort of craft.  That could be fun.  :)
