Don't worry about it - that's normal and it doens't hurt him. However, you're not supposed to use the onesies that snap under the crotch until the cord falls off - you're supposed to use the side snap shirts. That said, it sounds like he's about to lose it any day now so I wouldn't buy new shirts.

I wasn't told this and have been using the crotch snap onesies for LO without difficulty. Why shouldn't they be used?

No one told us not to use crotch snap onsies/clothes. We even had him in crotch snap outfits in the hospital and no one said anything about it. Same goes for front snap clothes, which I would think might me the ones you would want to aviod, but again, no one said anything to us about that! We don't have any side snap clothes for DS.
