No wet diapers overnight?

So lately, my little girl has been going through the night without wetting her diaper.  When she wakes up in the morning, it's completely dry.  Should I be concerned that perhaps she's getting dehydrated or something else is wrong?  Or is this just her particular quirk.  She otherwise eats regularly and aside from some spit up (sometimes massive), she seems to be wetting a lot of diapers during the day.  (Haven't counted, but seems to coincide with numbers of feedings, which is 8-10.)

Re: No wet diapers overnight?

  • Does she nurse throughout the night?

I don't think it would have me to concerned since she is wetting through 8-10 diapers during the day, if she is otherwise fine and eating normally.

  • Well they say once your baby wakes up dry to start potty training...you're there!! Haha...I saw your ticker so I am totally joking.

I breastfeed overnight so I have always had super wet diapers in the morning.  I would ask your pedi.

  • Caroline started having dry diapers overnight at about your baby's age...but she made up for it during the day.  She didn't nurse at night, or didn't nurse much at night so her diapers were dry...but she would totally soak a diaper during her morning nursing session.

Pedi said it was totally normal.

  • She doesn't wake up to nurse during the night any more.  She basically clusterfeeds just before bed, and then sleeps through the night.  She does soak a diaper during/after her morning nursing session.

  • We get that every once in awhile. I wouldn't worry. My pedi says you should have 1 wet diaper in a 12 hour period.

  • This is exactly what is happening for Tanner.  He still wakes to eat between 3:00 and 4:00 and has been dry for the past week or so.  His next change at 6:30 is soaked.    I plan to ask my pedi, but wanted to share that we are having the same thing happen.
