I went in to start the induction process Sunday afternoon. The cervadil was inserted around 6pm and immediately started contractions. The cervadil got me to 2cm. Started pit around 7am. Baby A's water broke at 2pm and I was still at 2. The contractions that started after the water broke were horrendous. They gave me pain meds that did nothing but make me drowsy and nauseated. I felt like they only added to the problem.
I was in hell. Finally, at 5, they gave me the epidural. I could finally handle the pain, but hated being stuck in bed. The kinks in my back were worse than the contractions.
Around 10pm I started feeling pressure and progressed to 9 by 1am. Then I was stuck. I didn't make it to 10 until 530. I started pushing right at 530 and Baby A (Grant) was born at 626 weighing 4lbs3.5ozs, then Baby B (Cole) came at 641 weighing 3lbs14oz.
They had low blood sugar at birth, but that has since stabilized and they no longer need their IVs. They are already regulating their body temperatures. Now we are tracking weight and working on feeding. I was released last night, 36 hrs after the birth b/c my recovery is going so well. No tears and no hemmies!!!!
I hated leaving the boys, but at least it allows me to get some sleep.
Re: My boys are here
Congratulations!! What beautiful boys.
And that's awesome your recovery is going so well.
I had a similar induction experience re: what happened after my water broke and my reaction to the pain meds. Ugh!
