it's a song called Sweet Potatoes from DD1's Music Together class. "Sing rue rue rue, sing rue, sing hokey dinkum. As soon as we all eat sweet potatoes, eat them straight up..."
it's silly, but when she was born i was flat on my back with leaking spinal fluid and couldn't sit up to pick her up. i just started singing and that was the only song i could think to sing over and over.
I sing whatever comes to mind. I'm horrible at words, so it's usually a bunch of la las and do dos, but she doesn't seem to mind. I sing her a lot of Broadway tunes.

I do that too. Or I make stuff up- and it always rhymes. DH told me to stop or DS is going to think he lives in a Dr. Seuss book.
My favorite:
"10 little fingers, 10 little toes. Two little ears and a button nose"
This one is for bathtime:
"Rub a dub dub little Jack in the tub...scrub scrub scrub, get off all the grub"
It's a silly song from a MadTV comdy sketch. How'd you get to be so sweet. How'd you get to be so sweet. I'll ask you very nicely if you tell me very kindly. How'd you get to be so sweet.

"If I had a Jackson... I'd hug him in the morning, I'd hug him in the evening, all over this house...."
Also, lots of commercial jingles... I just change the words to either include his name or whatever activity we're doing at the time.
Oh my goodness..... I sing that same song to my neice everyday! only its "If I had a Kylee"
LOL
How cute! I thought I was so creative...
Ha-ha-ha.
My sister comes out with these modified wonders all the time. A couple weeks ago I caught her and my BIL singing "whose putting pants on...you that is who " to the tune of "Who let the dogs out" My neice loves that stuff.
Re: what is your song for LO?
Mine is "Baby Mine" from Dumbo. My favorite song and I used to play it for him when I was pregnant.
DH's is the theme song from Weeds....which in all fairness is a real song.
"I Am a Child of God"
Its a hymn / primary song from church. ( is it that obvious I'm LDS?? lol)

I don't really have one. I do like to sing..
"My mommy loves me, this I know. For she always tells me so" to the music of "Jesus loves me."

Aww I love that song!!
This is going to sound stupid but I sing "Simple Man" by LS and "I Hope you Dance" to Asher.
I'm also a big fan of the opening song from "The Prince of Egypt" not the first part, but the lullabye by the river.
Also, to the tune of "If I had a Hammer"...
"If I had a Jackson... I'd hug him in the morning, I'd hug him in the evening, all over this house...."

We sing "You are my Sunshine" and I insist on singing the full version...you know, like on Beaches!
We sing the Weeds song too, and yes it is a children's song!
You are my Sunshine
I sing River Lullaby to my baby girl too. Puts her right to sleep.
