Heather- what rock have you been living under?

Here's our recipe for cinnamon toast-

Put the bread in the toaster

Add butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar (brownie points if you mix the cinnamon and sugar together ahead of time for a more even distribution).

These toast posts are cracking me up.  I seriously thought the cheese toast post last night was a joke... I had to read it out loud to my DH!

for the record, my hubbs hadn't heard of cheese toast either.  I'm going to have to call and ask him about cinnamon toast now.  LOL!

We even have a shaker that has sugar and cinnamon in it all mixed up, just for cinnamon toast. Makes those weekend morning breakfasts so fast and easy.

If you REALLY want your mind blown, you guys will have to come over for some of Rob's french toast one Saturday. He makes his own challah bread and mixes a touch of Grand Marnier in with the batter. It'll knock your socks off. And he loves cooking for a crowd.

well now, french toast I've had, lots of it, all kinds of ways and I love it!  I will gladly let rob cook for me one day!

I make mine differently.  Spread butter (softened) or like spreadable margarine works great on bread and then sprinkle w/ cinnamon and sugar.  Broil til the butter melts and the edges are nice and toasty.  Gotta watch it though bc it will go from brown to burnt in 2 secs.

Heather, if this sounds insane to you-- last summer I made cinnamon toast ice cream.    I wanted to eat 100 pounds of it.

McCormick's makes a Cinnamon/Sugar mixture.  How much easier can it be?  In Heather's defense I have never heard of cheese toast until it was on the menu at Ava's school.  Is this a southern thing?  Just wondering b/c my mom is from the north and we never had it.

heather - you can also put peanut butter on toast.  go crazy and get the "chunky" kind.

yes I've seen cinnamon toast crunch cereal, I thought it was a spin off of french toast.  I had no idea.  and kerrin, whore, pb toast I have had.  I'm also wondering if this is a southern thing since I'm from the midwest?  I don't know, but I fully embrace your toastiness.

it has to be. I compare my southern habits to my husbands yankee upbringing all the time. It's fascinating to me. Seriously!
