Any moms who are dealing with colic, we can chat about colic episodes, things that work, things that don't work, etc.
Basically, I'm just crying out to anyone who is going through this, too!!!
I'll start:
We've come to the conclusion Briar has colic. She cries the same time, around 8pm - 11:30pm give or take, every night. She has all the signs/symptoms. DH and I both had colic, too (our parents are laughing now).
My colic was due to lactose intolerance (it doesn't effect me much anymore). I'm wondering if B has it, too. I still eat dairy and I EBF. I'm tempted to start cutting food groups out of my diet to see if that will help.
The only way I can get her to sleep is after some comfort sucking, swaddling, and white noise. She will sleep in her PnP for a few hours, but after her 1:30am feeding, she wont go back in there. She usually sleeps on my lap (with me sitting up sleeping against the wall. It sucks for me, but hey, it's sleep!
Re: Wanna start a Colic Support Group?
We are thinking out little girl is dealing with this too. Pretty much anywhere frojm 5pm-10am she will have periods of crying and grunting. It kills me because she just looks at me with her eyes pleading to make the pain stop.
What works best for us?
comfort sucking
massaging her tummy- small clockwise circular motion in a large clockwise circle around her ribs to below her belly button.
laying her facing out with her tummy on my arm head at my elbow. (puts pressure on her tummy.) Sometimes I will pat her back at the same time.
Rocking and singing.
Sleep?- funny how they will be out when you are sitting up then the minute you lay down, even if they are in the same position, they will wake up. haha.
Good luck to us all!
