hi
where do you guys buy your kid's jewelry from?
all of mady's jewelry has been gifted to her on special occassions by family. for her upcoming bday dh & i want to buy her a piece (whether it be a charm for her necklaces, a new necklace, or a bracelet). i just don't know where to look for reputable jewelry.
i tried searching online and found tiffany's but they don't have a jewelry line for kids, and i couldn't find one for macy's either. i realize jewelry for a 2 yr old may not be the ideal gift but she has a bunch of toys and clothes and i know she will get more for her bday so we want to gift her something that she can cherish as she gets older.
ideas?
thx!
Re: kid's jewelry
Hi! All of Sophie's jewelry has been gifts up to this point. The children's jewelry I have purchased have been gifts for other kids. This is a young and prone to losing age for me to get her anything super special. Sophie has broken both of her necklaces and 2 bracelets. Its a rough age. So, if you want to get it for her get it because you will like it on her and be prepared for it to get lost or broken. It happens. So I would not spend a ton of money on something from Tiffanys or Macys. JMHO.
I have found super cute stuff at the jewelry kiosks in the mall. I am currently on the hunt for a little bangle for Sophie. Also, believe it or not, Sedanos in Homestead has a little jewelry counter with cute stuff and good prices for kids. I stumbled on it by accident and have been back a few times for gold earrings for my nieces.
Gold is super expensive at the moment so I would not go to a place that is going to mark it up even more. GL!
thanks! i've been lucky up to now about her not losing or breaking any jewelry but i know it can happen. she still doesn't have earrings yet so i was thinking more like a charm?
i'll probably see zales or jcpenney and see what they have.
i have no idea what other type of gift to get her though...
Zales or JCP is a good idea. Nothing to high end....but still baby cute. I read Tiffany's and was all, "girl...don't do it!" LOL. Wait for her Sweet 16. LOL.
lmao, when dh said jewelry that was the 1st thought that came to my head, i didnt know until i went online and saw a baby rattle was $250!!!
leanna - you're back?!?! i'm hardly ever on here anymore so i must have missed your post!
meljh - trust me, if i had the space i would get her an easel or a kiddie little table with chairs...unfortunately my living room has been converted to her play area and i would have to sell my furniture to be able to fit those items in
