Twin Babies Birth Weights?

Share your twin babies birth weights with me please:) A lot of people, not very close to me, keep saying that I will have really small babies since they're twins. People are asking why I am not buying/wanting any preemie stuff since they will surely need them.
My response is that if the babies are born full term between 36-38 wks. I am sure they will wear newborn sizes so we'll wait and see if we need any if the babies happen to be born earlier than that. But people still insist they will be small because there are two. I can see that if I have small babies typically but I had 2 babies already (singletons) born at 38 and 39 wks. and they were very large for that age @ 8lbs.11oz and 9lbs. 3oz. The boys have already been measuring about 2 wks. larger than ave. so far and are taking after the girls' weights so I think I will have 7-8 lb. babies easily.

girl: 4 lb, 13 oz
boy: 4 lb, 3 oz
wore preemie clothes until about 2 months of age / 7 lbs (newborn diapers)
wore newborn until about 3 months of age / 9 lbs (size 1 diapers)
wore 0-3 months until 5 months of age / 11 lbs (size 1-2 "in between" diapers)
now at 5 months they are in 3-6 month clothes and we've just started using size 2 diapers.
38w exactly, Jacob (A) was 6lb and William (B) was 5lb 5oz. Some people ask how big they are and when I tell them they always say how they were such big babies because most twins are born around 3-4 pounds, I don't know where they get their info, but whatever.
ETA: They wore preemie for 2w and then NB for the next 6w.

I did have a few preemie outfits ready in case they were small- and they were able to fit into them in their first week home, so they did wear them once : )

my singleton was 7lb 4oz and was born at 36w --- so I also have big babies in general (i was a 9lb baby born on my due date)
On average, twins are born right around 36w and average birth weight for twins is 5lbs6oz.
That said, mine were born at 37w6d via scheduled induction. They weighed 6lbs10oz (19.75" long) and 6lbs7oz (20" long).
A: 6 lbs. 4 oz.
B: 6 lbs. 13 oz.
Born at 37w6d. We put them right into NB clothes. My singleton boys were 9 lbs. 2 oz. and 8 lbs. 14 oz.
I figured we'd pass on buying preemie clothes and if we ended up needing them I'd have someone make a trip to buy some. Since we didn't end up needing them, I'm glad I didn't have any to return! : )

they wore preemie for about a month and then the weight gain really started and they were in newborn size
31weeks 5 days... my girls weighed 2.11 lbs and 3 lbs
they wore preemie clothes until about 10 weeks old
Mine were born at 38w1d.
A: 6lbs 5 oz
B: 5lbs 12 oz
They wore newborn until 5 weeks (and about 8-9lbs) and are still in 0-3 month clothes (and about 12 lbs for DD and probably close to 15lbs for DS)
My twins are 5! My baby is 3!
DS#2 - Allergic to Cashew, Pistachio, Kiwi
DS#3 - Allergic to Milk, Egg, Peanut, Tree Nuts and Sesame
6 lb. 12 oz. and 5 lb. 3 oz. (38 weeks on the dot)
Anastasia (smaller) wore preemie stuff for maybe a week.
36w 3d, 5 lbs 10 oz and 5 lbs 11 oz, they were too big for premie (up to 5 lbs) but were swimming in NB for awhile. gerber ran small so those fit best at first.

36 weeks 1 day Baby A Girl was 6#13oz 19 1/2 in Baby B Boy was 7#3oz 19 in
vaginal, induced delivery.
came home in newborn clothes and newborn diapers. at 3 weeks, they do not fit into their coming home outfit but some of the newborn clothes are a little big on them. still in newborn diapers but can fit into a 1 (pretty big though) only wore preemie onesies once or twice b/c they are stretchy other than that, never wore preemie clothes b/c they were already too big!
my singleton was 3#8oz at 29 weeks...big for his gestational age.

DS was 7 lbs -- newborn clothes
DD was 5lbs 4oz -- preemie clothes for about a month
Ryan was 5 lbs 15 oz
Keira was 6 lbs 9 oz
They were born at 37w3d
My boys were born at 38 weeks (planned c-section)
Benjamin (Baby A) was 6 lb 11 oz.
Jacob (Baby
was 5 lb 12 oz.
The both dropped a lot of weight the first week and were in preemie clothes for awhile. Jacob wore them for at least a month or two.
Born @ 37 weeks
DS - 6lbs 1oz
DD - 5lbs 2oz
They were on track to be bigger but I developed Pre-E which limited their progress growth wise. They were on track to be 8lbs each (eek!) but that wouldn't have been unreasonable because DH was a 9lb baby 3 weeks early (double eek!)

Baby A wore a couple of preemie outfits for a couple of weeks. Baby B was in preemie stuff for the first month. They then stayed in newborn until 3 months.
I had my boys at 37w4d and one was 6lb11oz and the other was 5lb3oz. The smaller boy fits well into preemie shirts, but he is long, so the preemie sleepers are not ideal for him. Either way, he can wear newborn clothes, they are just a bit big.

37 weeks 5 days 5lbs15oz and 6lbs 3oz
Just take care of yourself, take your vitamins, eat healthy and get lots of rest! good luck on baking those babies:)
38 weeks, 5 lb 2 oz and 7 lb 7 oz. Only Baby A needed premee clothes and only briefly becuase he gained weight fast. We just got a few onesies to fit him.
38 weeks, C-section
They were 6 lbs 2 oz and 6 lbs 11 oz. We never wore preemie clothes, newborn lasted us a while though. And newborn diapers also
The boys were born at 38w2d. Eli weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz. and Ben weighed 5 lbs. 13 oz. Neither wore preemie clothes. They went straight to NB.
If you go full term, they have every bit as good a chance as a singleton to be good sized babies. A lot of girls on here have had 6-7+ lbs. twins.
37w 1d c-section due to pre-e

They were preemie clothes for 4-6 weeks then into newborn. They will be 3 months tomorrow and are just now growing out of the newborn and 0-3 are starting to fit them now. They were prefectly healthy and came home with me 3 days pp

My boys were born at 36 weeks and 2 days. Their weights are in my siggy below.
They wore preemie size for the first couple weeks and then moved to newborn. However, all my preemie clothes were handed down from my SIL who had a 26 weeker. I did not buy any and would have made it fine without them.
My boys mostly wore long sleeved wrapped t-shirts and swaddled receiving blankets for the first few weeks and I really only put on the preemie clothes when we went to the pedi.
