New to The Bump

New to the bump and the whole baby-making experience....

Hi all!  I am new to the bump and the whole baby-making experience.  I stopped taking the pill on February 1 after being on it for close to 15 years.  I have to say, it threw me for a loop to start trying to get pregnant instead of trying to not get pregnant.

I'm still trying to figure out what my "regular" cycles will be without the pill, as each of my last two cycles have been off by a week.   I am rather nervous about the whole experience as I have endometriosis and my husband is approaching 40 (I am 31), but at the same time I am extremely excited.

Any and all feedback, suggestions, support, and laughs are greatly appreciated!

  • Welcome! I am new, too, and my situation sounds a lot like yours!  :) I am 31, also, almost 32, and have been on the pill off and on for nearly 10 years. We are planning on TTC this Fall, and it will certainly feel like a whole new concept, even though I do have 2 children who are 7 and 13!

    Good luck!

  • Welcome to the Bump! I also suggest you check out the TTC board. I also suggest you read the book Take Charge of your Fertility. Clicky! Good luck in your trying to conceive journey.
  • It can take your cycles a full year to regulate after coming off birth control pills.   I suggest charting to help you figure out when you're ovulating.  Try FertilityFriend.com.  They have great lessons on charting.  Good luck!
