High-Risk Pregnancy

saying hello

I just wanted to say hello to all my bedrest mamas!  I am thinking of you guys and hope to be on often enough to check in on news.

Life here is busy, but things are going really well.  Benjamin and Asher are good eaters, Asher loves nursing but Ben gets tired pretty easily since he is so small.  They are sleeping all the time right now, which means I get 2 hour periods of time where I can get things done around the house or go out for an errand.  We go to the pediatrician tomorrow so we'll see if they are gaining weight.

I appreciate so much all the support you girls offered while I was on bedrest.  I loved having this board and knowing there were so many other ladies out there going through the same thing.  I am wishing you all good luck and healthy babies!

Re: saying hello

  • Hi Becca!  I'm glad to hear you are all doing so well!  Congrats again on your babies...you did such an awesome job!  Now that you have your babies safe and sound on the outside, can you send me a little labor dust?  Livy seems to have decided after scarring the crap out of her Mama that she wants to stay inside after all...and I really am ready to hold her!

Take care of yourself and enjoy those babies!  I'm so happy for you...you had such a tough road and look at you now!!!

  • Hi Becca. Glad to hear the babies are well.  Take advantage of the "sleeping all the time" because as they get bigger that will stop.  Make sure you take naps when you can.  I hope the boys are gaining weight well. You are blessed that you can breastfeed them. When I had DD#1 4.5 years ago she would not latch well and didn't even take a bottle well until she was 3-4 weeks old (though she did gain weight). By the time she figured out how to latch she refused to do it again (had realized that bottles are easier).  Sometimes the little and early babies never do breastfeed.  Sounds like you have a lot to be thankful for and I am very happy for you!
  • Michelle-- isn't it funny that you spend all that time lying still to keep the baby in and then the baby doesn't know it's time to come out?  I guess you could start doing all the old "tricks," spicy food and sex?  I am checking in here regularly to see you announce that you're in labor or that Livy is here!

  • Congrats on getting through all the bedrest and the end reward of your two beautiful boys must be SO worth it!!!!  I am 5 weeks into my bedrest with hopefully another six to go.  Seeing posts like yours reminds me why we're doing this and that there is a lovely light at the end of the tunnel.  So glad you checked in with us.
