Omega 3 supplemental for 20 month old?

So DD is getting her 2 yr molars and is suddenly super picky about what she eats. I purchased the Sneaky Chef and have been trying new recipes but she is still rejecting a lot of things. I have a call into her pedi for some tips as well but someone on another board recommend I check here regarding Omega 3 supplements. I miss my good eater. TIA.

Re: Omega 3 supplemental for 20 month old?

  • There are now several different gummy versions of omega 3--a lot are vegetarian, from a couple of different sources (definitely look for either an actual fish oil or one from seaweed, at least that's my opinion, but do some research and decide what you think is best). Dr. Sears has liquid and gummy versions, and they're made from actual fish. I actually now just give my kids one of the fish oil I take. I just hand it to my oldest 2 who chew it up, suck the liquid out, and then spit out the capsule (yeah really, it sounds disgusting, doesn't it? They happen to like it Indifferent), and I just poke it open with a knife and squirt it in the mouth of my 16 month old. They each take 1000 mg per day, though Ethan sometimes takes more. The gummies have 200 mg per 2, I think, but it is sometimes enough for a child.

  • Ds takes THIS one. I take the same kind but in the adult version. We get the lemon flavored. He loves it. I think it taste like lemon pledge.
