mini pill questions

So my doc gave me a script for this but I have not decided if I am going to take it.  She said you need to take it regliously and if you get sick and throw up to use another method becasue you could get pregnant.  Here are my questions:

Anyone get pregnant on this and if so were you taking it correctly?

For those who BF and don't get a period do you take a test every so often to see if you are PG?  I only ask becasue I had a coworker who found out when she was 5 months prego that she was expecting.  She was EBFing and had not gotten her PP period so she had no clue.

Me i got pregnant using the mini-pill BUT i was also given antibiotics that weakened it ( i didn't now i was given any...long story) any way since i never got my period and was breastfeeding i was 9 weeks along before i knew i was pregnant.

Lurking over here from 1st Tri. 

I used the mini-pill (Micronor to be exact) for about six years before TTC, since combination pills always had bad side effects with me.  I didn't always take it on time but was mostly good about it.  Occasionally it would be a good 12 hours late or I would miss one.  In those six years it never failed, though.  I did end up going off of it because suddenly I began spotting after sex.  The OB told me it was a hormonal issue and it would straighten itself out.  I don't know how long it would have taken to do so, but it took TWO YEARS for the bleeding after intercourse to not happen every single time, and it still happened a good 60-70% of the time.  I couldn't let my S.O. go too deep to prevent the bleeding.  It only stopped after I got pregnant.

I really loved taking it until the spotting thing happened, and from the reading I've done it seems most women don't have that problem, and hell, mine didn't even start doing that for years.

I'm curious as to the answers to this too.  I'm on the mini pill and generally take it within an hour each day, but wonder if that is not dilligent enough?
