Did you hurt a lot after membrane stripping?

It just felt like a very rigorous pelvic exam when it happened, but now I ache all over, mostly when standing.  Is it supposed to hurt a lot?

Nope, but then again, I had mine done twice and it didn't work either time. I would say that what your feeling is a good thing! Hope it works!!

Yes, I hurt a lot.

I bled A LOT and afterwards felt like puking for a while.  I had a lot of cramping too, but it didn't lead to labor.

With DS it hurt alot, during and after, and my water broke within a couple hours.

With DD it didn't hurt much, and I didn't go into labor.

yes.  i would start walking/cleaning, anything to keep yourself moving, it could lead to labor..

The stripping didn't hurt, but for me the whole evening afterward my back ached when I was standing. Then about 10:00 P.M. I started contractions and by 2:00 A.M. my water broke. I had the baby at 4:00 A.M.

My membranes were stripped with two out of three pregnancies. The first stripping (with DD), it didn't hurt at all and I went into labor within 4 hrs. The second stripping (with DS1) really HURT but lead to nothing. Go figure!
