Nursing Student Looking for Experience

Hi Ladies

It's been awhile since I have been online, and I see new faces everywhere.  I am actually in nursing school in Minnesota, and I am looking for experience in Maternal nursing cares.  As students we do not get to have a rotation in the labor and delivery unit at hospitals here, so the instructor has asked us to use resources available to us to see if we could find a volunteer.  So I decided to start my search here at the bump! What I am looking for is an expecting mother within the next 11 weeks that is due to give birth that would allow me to attended the birth of their new addition. I would be just be there taking in the experience and to observe the nurses. 

I would ask that you check with your care provider to make sure that allowing me enterance to the experience will not hinder you from having other visitors as I know some hospitals limit the amount of people in the birthing room. 

I would be more than willing to help you with anything during that time as well.  I could be supportive, run get ice chips, popsicles, direct family members, update them, anything you need.  I would be like a birthing assistant, but for free! 

I would be extremely gracious to whoever would allow me this opportunity. This is the field that I interested in specializing. I have actually looked at becoming a Midwife when I have finished my Masters.  I totally understand if you need any information from me, including my instructors phone number to call and confirm, my school, phone numbers, references, etc. Anything you need. I will provide.  Thanks again for letting me get my message out there. I look forward to any replies.
