Jogging with a regular stroller

So immediately after I registered and received my beautiful new (Chicco Cortina) stroller, I realized that maybe I should have just asked for a jogging stroller so that I could both walk and jog with it.  But we really need to save some money so I was wondering if anyone has tried or heard of trying to jog with a regular stroller?  Would that work?  Thanks!

You really can't. The regular stroller does some sort of weird wobbling if you run with it. You can do a slight jog and fast walking.

Are you a big jogger? If you aren't a big jogger/runner now,then I wouldn't advise buying one.

Can you exchange it? We love our jogging stroller. We didn't even register for a regular one because my DH said with his son he went through 3 of them because of the quality. Although we paid $130 for the jogging stroller it will last forever. Heck, we put 80 pounds of luggage on it and rolled it though the airport.

It also can go wherever - jump curbs, drive through the sand, etc. in addition to being good to walk/jog with. It reclines to it worked when my DS was an infant and the carseat also fit in it. Maybe see if you can exchange yours?

In addition to the wheels being wonky, I think the steering mechanism on a jogging stroller is more conducive for running.  Also, jogging strollers have shock absorbers, which makes it easier for DC to handle the ride.

I have the chicco and NO.  It's great for the mall and everything but fast walking is as much as it can handle.  Even fast walking with an infant in the neighborhood was hard b/c like pp mentioned there are no shock absorbers.

I use a regular stroller with my 5 year old and it is not great but it works. I want a jogging stroller but don't want to spend the money. I must say it is a great workout because you have to work hard to keep it under control. If you a regular jogger I would say get the jogging stroller but if you not a regular one is fine.

The joggers are not good in crowds etc b/c they are big but, the strollers are not really good for jogging.  I think both is really nice to have if you can swing it.  Baby Trend has some for only about $140 or so.

Check on CL too.  I see older ones for ~30$ all the time on our CL.  They look crappy and don't recline, etc, but who cares if you are just going to use it to run.  They typically are nice brands too- Baby Jogger, etc.
