Baby Names

How would you pronounce...

Caley? Kay-lee or Cal-e

I saw this name on Babynames.com and i could not figure out how this was pronounced between the two. I have heard of the name Cal-e before but im unsure if this is it. My Dh says it is Kay-lee, if it is, then how do you spell Cal-e?

Re: How would you pronounce...

  • I'd say Kay-lee.

We know a girl named Callie. Is that more like what you're thinking?

  • to me it looks like Kale, the vegetable, with EEE at the end. Just because I have seen Kay-lee spelled various ways with Kai, Kay, Kae.

    Callie would be pronounces Cal-E

    Kay-lee. Basic English: ale = long a

    Cal-e = Callie

    This!

  • Caley is probably pronounced Kay-lee

     I would spell Cal-e: Callie

  • Kay-lee.  Cal-ee is Callie.  Or, heaven forbid, Caleigh.

  • I'm sure she'd get called both, and forever be correcting people.  If you decide you like Kay-lee I'd spell it more that way...and if you prefer Cal-EE I'd spell it Callie, or Caleigh (which I think looks more like a complete name than a nickname)
