Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Expected Miscarriage Part 2

Hi Ladies, Last week I wrote a post about my expected miscarriage: went for my second ultrasound at 6 weeks and 3 days today.  I saw the fetus and a heartbeat and I was very happy.  The doctor said that there was not enough growth since my last ultrasound and the heartbeat was only at 80BPM but it should be 100BPM.  She basically said that it is very possible that I am going to have a miscarriage.  I am completely devastated and I don't know how to handle this.  Has this happened to anyone else? Now its 4 days later and I have no signs of miscarriage at all.  My boobs are still sore and I'm nausous.  I stayed home from work all week because I didn't want to miscarry there.  As of right now I am so emotionally drained that I can barely function.  I found a website about misdiagnosed miscarriages (which I wish I didn't) because now I have a little bit of hope.   I think doctors have women go in too early for ultrasounds which causes us to be way too stressed.  So at this point, I don't know how to feel.  I'm still crying all day and have a follow up on Tuesday.  I do have to go back to work at some point but I just don't feel ready.  Oh and P.S. I am going to get a new doctor because she is very insensitive and is very negative. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent.

Re: Expected Miscarriage Part 2

  • I don't have any real answers for you....but the fact that they DID find a heartbeat is good. And I don't think 80bpm is too bad for how early it is in your pregnancy. I think that doctors need to air on the side of caution when they don't see things exactly perfect. (maybe they think it will prepare us better)...but no signs of m/c yet? That is a good sign! I don't blame you for not wanting to be at work. I have been through 2 m/c's and you don't want to deal with that at work for sure.

Hang in there!! Sometimes hope is all we have...Good luck!!

  • I am so sorry you're going through this. ((HUGS)) Although I am not a doctor I think it's a good sign you saw a HB today. Today you are pregnant and you love your baby.

    GL and keep us posted!

  • Kudos on looking for a new doctor!  After reading your last post, I wouldn't be going back to that woman either.  Her telling you you'll probably miscarry put you under A LOT of stress that you wouldn't have had otherwise, which isn't good for you or baby.  I'm glad you're feeling a little hopeful.  Keep your head up, Girlie.  Thoughts and prayers still coming your way!
