Anyone use a baby K'tan?

I saw people at an LLL meeting wearing them and I am interested. It looks like the moby but you dont tie it. anyone have experience with it?

I have many carriers,--incl the moby-- but I want something easy to nurse it or hold DD in the cradle hold without the annoying tying.

TIA

Re: Anyone use a baby K'tan?

  • I have the K'tan and Moby (and some others, but I am trying to curb my carrier addictionSmile). I bought the K'tan first b/c I really liked the idea of not having to tie on all that fabric. I only used it once or twice, however, b/c the fit just wasn't great- I have large breasts (38DD) and it was in some ways loose and in others too tight. I bought the Moby and haven't used the K'tan since. IME, it is much easier to get the right fit with the Moby, even though tying it can be a PITA. If you are going to get one, I would definitely recommend going to a store that will allow you to try it on first to make sure the fit works for you.
  • I have one that I got from Target and I love it.  DS did not like the cradle hold so much but he likes being held upright in it (facing me).  I like that it was 2 pieces and didn't have to wrap it around and around - so far I've gone to a St. Pattys day festival with DS in it and shopped around at a huge consignment sale while he slept.

  • I have the k'tan and I really like it. I liked the idea of the Moby but without all the tying. It's pretty easy to get on and off and DD is snug in there, so I gotta say I'm a fan!
  • I bought one and have been playing around with it.  But DD (16 months) wanted nothing to do with being strapped to me, and I don't have anything that is like 8lbs to try... so I don't know if it will work great or not.. hopefully!

I like how soft it is.

Ditto that. Also I'm large chested (G's) and it fits fine. :)

  • I bought one....but baby isn't hear yet so I can't really try it yet.  I did try it with DS (almost 2 and 30 lbs) and he is OK in the hip position for a bit if he is fussy and this is the only way he gets Momma when i have to get dinner started or something.  (since I can't use the Ergo or other backpack with a big tummy!)

I did feel that the Small was really tight (I have no chest really....well, B now that pg, but they won't stay, poo)  so I exchanged for a Medium and it feels better.  My plan is to use to more around the house and use the Ergo for longer trips.

Good to know that I am not the only one with a carrier addiction!

FYI:  I did see some Moby's at our Babies R Us Clearance section...which somehow I refrained from buying!  lol!  carriers on clearence are evil!  :)
