For those of you who have or are getting a stroller with a detachable bassinet/carrycot - Bugaboos, Bumblerides, etc - I've seen/read that some people detach the bassinet from the stroller and use as an actual separate bassinet for nighttime sleeping (setting up on a Moses basket frame) and keeping with you in the bedroom.
Just curious about the safety of this and if anyone is planning on going this route.
Re: Getting a detachable bassinet with your stroller?
We have the UppaBaby Vista and plan to use it when the baby is still pretty small. It is a big bassinet (much bigger than I was thinking) and will be wonderful when we travel to the ILs during the newborn phase.
I hope to have her in her crib by the time the bassinet would be too small.
So, will you be using it more as occasional use - rather than everyday use?
Basically, I'm pondering moving our Pack N' Play downstairs (which we planned on using when the baby was little), and trying to figure out what I should use in our bedroom, before we move the baby to the crib in the nursery.
No we plan to use it daily (both upstairs and in our room for sleeping) while the baby is less than 3 months or so.
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

We used our bassinet from the bugaboo frog for the first month or so... the deal breaker was when my daughter got sick and I had to take the entire thing apart to clean it. The bugaboo style is a bit different than Uppa Baby or Baby Jogger.
I used it a lot when we were out and about, running errands and such. I thought I was going to use it on the stroller frame but it ended up being too tight of a squeeze next to our bed.
