WDYT of the name Penelope?

It's climbing up our list, so just curious what others think of it. 

 

(We are having twins, the other girl name is Eliza.  If it's one of each, the boy name is Oliver)

I love it! If it didnt sound ridiculous wiht our last name (which begins with a P...) it would definitely be on my short list for someday-daughters

This! DH loves Penelope and I love Poppy, so I am onboard if I can have that! It is a pretty, not overused name and the more I say it, the more it grows on me.  (Not that we're even pg yet but we like to discuss) But I am scared of the nn Penny bc I am really not a fan of it...

It's such a wonderful, beautiful name that will age well.  Great nicknames to- Penny, Poppy, Nel.  I actually would have used Pen as a nickname- I love girly names with boyish nicknames.

Love!  Love!  Love it!  I like it better than Eliza, so if you have to pick between the two, I'd go Penelope!  Poppy is SO cute!

Me too. Unfortunately, I always think of a pudgy girl/woman when I hear this name.

I was stuck on the pig thing too, especially since that movie.  But then I started thinking about a little girl named penelope and it didn't bother me so much.

It sounds like a pig name. Honestly, I think its awful. Eliza is cute though.

I really love Penelope!  I love Penny and Poppy for nn's too.  I think it flows pretty well with Eliza as well!
