wash moby wrap before use?

The moby wrap is all coiled up in it's little package, so I'm not worried that it got "dirty", but would you wash it to get all of the manufacturing smells off before using it with LO?  It doesn't smell nasty or anything...just not sure if it'll shrink and be weird after washing it.

I washed mine, I took it as a piece of cloth or clothing which I wash all clothing before wearing. I washed it with a load of babies clothes and kept the detergent down and did an extra rinse.

I wondered this, too.  I am not going to wash mine before using it, but I am sure you will end up having to wash it all the time.  The baby could vomit or poop on it, or you could inadvertently rub up against something.  Ask on 0-3 maybe someone there has washed it

Mine has been washed a ton of times.  DS was a spitter.

I work in international shipping, so I know about the kind of chemicals some imports are exposed to.  I wash EVERYTHING before I wear it and will do the same for the baby.  I say wash and hang dry.

Ha ha ha, I was just wondering what the heck to do with the little pouch.  I know for sure I'll NEVER get the moby back in there!!!  I guess I'll just toss it.

I washed mine.  I just followed the instructions on the package and it came out just fine.

I washed and dried mine with a load of baby clothes.  If it's going to shrink I want to know now, and I'm sure not going to hang it dry forever!  It didn't shrink much if at all.  I also washed and dried everything that will touch baby's skin.
